Just when you were feeling sad about the closing of Trenditions, Costco Home and Yarrow Bay Grill we've got an opening for you! We just happened to pop in at BeachHouse Bar + Grill on Thursday night which was their first evening open to the public. You'll find them at 6023 Lake Washington Blvd which was formerly Fiorente, formerly Clancy's, and formerly The Foghorn restaurant depending on when you blinked.
But the BeachHouse is here to stay! They have a totally casual vibe which, in this economy, is a really smart move. Lots of happy hour appetizers and fun drinks at half off between the hours of 3-6 and 9-close. The inside is the same general layout as its predecessors with some fun new paint colors and the familiar dark beams overhead. It's a laid-back spot where you can walk in with flip flops on, listen to The Cure being piped in (don't laugh, it was really on and this was my fave in high school) and be comforted by heartfelt belly chuckles coming from the crowded bar.
And the view doesn't get any better than this! They are looking into adding a waterfront patio area so keep your fingers crossed. Another perk-you can even call ahead with an order and pull up to their private dock and they'll deliver to your boat (or just dock and stay). If they could deliver breakfast and coffee to my boat after my 6am water-ski runs I'd be in heaven. A girl can dream, right? Check out Chef Ricky Eng's (formerly of Newport Bay and Stanford's) menu here- you'll find lots of finger food (appetizers, burgers, pizza), a handful of entrees (salmon, rib-eye) and soups/salads too. I enjoyed my chop chop salad and friendly service while Steve had the wedge salad and french onion soup which were also very good. Between that and a couple of drinks we spent $50 which is a very reasonable date night. Right now BeachHouse serves lunch and dinner from 11am until 10 or close, and plan to serve breakfast in the future. Go check it out and let us know what you think. ~j

How have other people's experiences been at BeachHouse? We were extremely excited about the place and went there last night for dinner...what a let down. The service was slow, they didn't bring us what we ordered, and the food was terrible. I think they didn't have enough staff scheduled for last night (good weather) and we really want to give them another chance. But we could go to the Slip for half the price and be assured of great food, ambience, view, and service. What do others think of the food and service? Should we give them a second chance?

We went last night as well (4/15) and thought it was wonderful. Loved the feeling and energy that was lacking before. Burgers and prime rib dip were great. Yam fries, so yummy. The wine list is wonderful with several well priced chardonnays. Happy hour in the bar was packed. We were the first seated in the restaurant at 5:45. Service was prompt despite computer failure. Nice kids menu includes ice cream dessert. We will go back soon.

Went to the Slip tonight and it was SO much better than BeachHouse...no comparison really. I wonder if the problem we ran into was we went later (around 7ish) and the place was packed. Besides computer issues they were having issues in the kitchen as well. I emailed the owner and GM to see what they have to say about our experience. We may head back over there depending on the response I receive from them.

Great neighborhood Bar and Grill. We are locals who have been waiting for The Beachhouse to open. The price and service (ask for Aleesha) have us looking forward to a new place to call our own this summer. Try the Wild Salmon and the Tenderloin Steak Salad.
Definetly our new spot to go to this summer.

Great Mojitos & Halibut fish tacos and very nice service! add that to a sunset view or a view of tight abs playing volleyball and I think we have a Kirkland hit!

My husband and I have been to the beach house 3 times since Memorial day. The food is great but the service is lacking.
They are terribly under staffed as the waitress told us (really?) and no one to welcome you as you come in. We must have stood there for 10 min while the manager walked back and forth telling us he'd "be right there". Please spend the extra money and hire some highschool student's who need the summer job. Get a hostess to seat people. Quit making the same mistake of "sending everyone home early" for your wait staff. I don't think I'll be back for a while in hopes that they get the management issues fixed.

Wow, seriously? We go to the beach house about three times a week for dinner and have never had an issue, go! Ask for Deanna, she has been our server every time and will treat you like family! The food is EXCELLENT, if there is anything wrong, or you dont like something they will take it back and make it right. We LOVE this restaurant!
