Thank you for the visit at our gym! Your blog is awesome and I reposted it on Facebook. I noticed you referenced us to CrossFit and we have had many people ask us about the similarities. The Underground Strength Program under the mentorship of Zach Even-Esh is actually affiliated with organizations such as SICFIT CrossFit and CrossFit Central. Just as we had flown to New Jersey for our certification, they too as a group have been to the same facility and received the same tutelage and workouts! Tough bunch I'll say!

Another cool thing is that CrossFit Trainers have and still work out at our facility via the Underground Strength Program, and we are definitely proud to train them and share fitness expertise along with the comraderie.

As they themselves have commented on the certain differences between the programming; they do love the similarities of the energy and intensity.

Currently we are the only licensed facility in the Northwest for the Underground Strength Training Program (http://www.undergroundstrengthcoachnw.com).

Thank you once again and I hope to see you at our facility in the future! Keep up the great work!

After a quick warm-up Rommel paired us up and walked through the program of 6 exercises/stations on the whiteboard. A quick blow of the whistle and everyone hustled through the 40 second interval at their first station which varied from chest presses to jump squats to bear crawls and even pushing/pulling the weighted 'sled' the length of the warehouse building. When the whistle blew again we had a few seconds to ready ourselves and get weights for the next station. We kept rotating stations every 40 seconds so the movements were pretty varied and quick-paced. We used all sorts of equipment including kettleballs, the physioball and the BOSU for different parts of our workout. The last 5-10 minutes were spent on floor exercises that we all did together such as sit ups and plank-positioned challenges. I've heard that when weather permits, this class is brought outside and incorpasforates short runs and obstacle courses which sounds really fun too!
