I'm only mildly embarrassed to admit that we have been to this new frozen yogurt place, Cherry de Pon, in Juanita Village twice this week. You will be delighted to know that there are about 12 self-serve flavors that change every day. For example, the non-fat mint cookie was a huge hit for the Rabuchin family only to find it was replaced by strawberry banana the next day. But fear not- they will change their flavors based on customer requests! Some examples to get you drooling: red velvet cake, snickerdoodle, lychee, rootbeer float, Georgia peach, lemon ice box pie, maple walnut, key lime and cotton candy. Ask for a few sample cups and they will let you taste before you commit. You can find current flavors on their facebook page. There are so many toppings that you could slow up the line (of others that have also discovered this) just trying to decide between the yummy worms, cookie dough morsels, fruit toppings, or other endless options all visually vying for your attention. Don't forget there are smoothies and bubble tea (what is that??) too.
Here's the BEST part---wait for it......wait for it.....this is surely why this place has a steady flow of customers (not to mention parking is easy). You are charged by weight- it's $.39/oz. So, for perspective, our family of 5 each got a yogurt with toppings for $11 total. We used a 20% off coupon that is on their website. This is very different from some other local ones where I have to spend $30 and my first born to pay for our yogurt. Cherry de Pon also has 4-5 tables, some stools at the window seat and other space for you to lounge and chat while you enjoy your chilly delight.
Now my biggest concern will be when the sunny weather hits. This is dangerously close to our house. I need to calculate if the calories burned to walk to Cherry de Pon from home is equal to or greater than the calories I consume there (about 100 per). Might need to run instead. But it will be totally worth it. ~j

Sorry Janis- can't disagree with you more on this one. Chilly Wave is so much better. Fresher ingredients plus their yogurt isn't mixed from a powdery substance like Cherry Du Pon is. While it is more sparse on furnishings and decor, their yogurt is far superior. What I really love is the owner is local- it is not a chain like Cherry Du Pon is. And he is already giving back to the community hosting game nights for high schoolers on Saturday. If you haven't compared the two, I urge you to do so. Chilly Wave wins hands down on taste. And I love that I can support a locally owned business.

So glad you did this write up! My husband and I recently did a fro yo taste test of the 2 juanita village shops that just opened and hands down, cherry de pon was the best. Their flavors were better and the texture of the yogurt was way creamier. The girls that work there are so sweet too. And thanks for the heads up on the coupon!

Red velvet cake is my obsession. I'm planning to go here on summertime with my family to let them taste the best frozen yogurt in the country.

Well said Karin. Fully agree on the powdery mixture at De Pon. Chilly Wave flavors are far superior and they use the top notch brand YoCream as is advertised on their walls. If I am going to put something into my body, then it had better do a body good.

I totally disagree with Karin and Fiona regarding to Cherry De Pon's products. Before making a negative comment about their products, let I ask both of you this "Which flavors have both of you tried?". Have you ask their employees how do they prepare their yogurt and where did they get the yogurt from? How would you know that they use powder instead of liquid which originated from YoCream like the one from Chilly Wave?

Hi John- I know because I asked. Two different Cherry De Pon employees told me this is how they make their yogurt. Not sure why the flavors matter, but since you asked- I have tried red velvet, cake batter, vanilla and chocolate from Cherry De Pon. You may want to think about doing the research before you accuse others of not knowing what they are talking about- I think the taste test speaks for itself. Chilly Wave wins hands down.

I have been to both on repeated occasions. I must admit that I think Chilly Wave tastes much better from my perspective too. Chilly Wave yogurts are more rich/smooth imo. They also have sherbets in addition to the frozen yogurts.

Wow, John. You just got OWNED!
(Chilly Wave tastes less fake to me. I think Cherry de Pon appeals more to children. But hey, to each his own.)

Definitely agree, Chilly Wave yogurt hands down wins. Now I just have the problem of living too close and craving it every evening. I agree with the powder taste at Cherry de Pon.

Not sure why Cherry fans (family members possibly?) brag about the $0.39c oz deal. Chilly Wave offers theirs for the same price and they openly disclose brand of yogurt used, ingredients, facts, etc. They appear to encourage open dialogue. Does Cherry ever 'brag' about their ingredients? Or have they something to hide? I just know that I feel better informed just by reading Chilly Wave's FB posts. Keep up the good work Chilly.

I do not know why everyone make a very big deal to compare between Cherry de Pon and Chilly wave. Everyone has different tastes and opinions. However, I just want to verify that Cherry de Pon also use YoCream yogurt as main products. I also ask Cherry de Pon employees by myself since i want to know all of the ingredients. They showed me the box of yogurt from YoCream, so I know most of the flavors are from YoCream. So, just to verify so..For me, I like Cherry de Pon better. Nicer, cleaner, very good customer service and very good yogurts too.

MOST of the flavors? Why not ALL of the flavors? Sorry, not buying it! No YoCream being served there sir!

Interesting. Different answer than I got, but even if it is some of the flavors, I don't want to ask every time I buy yogurt. Seems like a big hassle. I'll stick with Chilly Wave where I know everything I'm eating is legit and I don't have to ask every single time.

I have tried both places and Chilly Wave is definitely tastier. I noticed there was an 'off' taste with Cherry de Pon, and the powdered yogurt explains it. Good to know Chilly is locally owned!
