That's right. Aura Bakery & Coffee Bar is going to bring us more coffee and pastries in downtown Kirkland at 116 Central Way (across from Zoka). I know you are wondering... how can we need more coffee? But Kirklanders seem to have proven that we can consume enough to keep all of them in business. Maybe the city should hire one of their special consultants to tell us exactly how many scones we scarf down and coffees we ingest in any given day. Then we could calculate the number of coffee shops we need to achieve the perfect caffeination equilibrium in our downtown core.
Aura is hoping to open at the end of September- check out their facebook page for photos of some vanilla eclairs and over-the-top looking desserts. Their "coming soon" sign says they will be serving Intelligentsia fresh roasted coffee. It also says "Stressed is just DESSERTS spelled backwards." At least they are coming with good humor, I always appreciate that. I'm going to make a request that they stay open past 7pm. It drives Steve and I crazy that everyone closes so early in Kirkland. Looking forward to checking this out when the doors open. ~j
