Lucky me! I went to George's (Kirkland Ave)friends & family night to kickoff off their new menu last week. They are also celebrating 37 years as Kirkland's longest running family-owned restaurant. With bright colors and drool-inducing photos, the new menu (photo) is pleasing to your eye and appetite. Don't fret, the classics are still on there but you'll also find new additions such as: milkshakes, apple pie, the "Runner's Special" and Mama's Baklava Pancakes to name a few. I'm a creature of habit and ordered up my usual Gyro Salad (photo below) which was delicious, as always. There are lots of options now where you can do add-ons to sandwiches, pitas and salads (baaaaaaaaaacon!) or even build your own pasta. Seniors, pay attention, now there is a senior section all day and night (formerly just breakfast/lunch).
I also love chatting with Kim, Derek, Pete & Hadley who are ever-present owners in the day to day operations and friendly hometown feel of this landmark. Kudos to them for keeping George's fresh while holding onto the original heart of this establishment. And keeping with the local love, George's is excited to have a new partnership with Rococo Coffee Roasting so they can offer premium small batch hand-roasted coffee and espresso to their customers. Now that's a whole lot of goodness! Questions email email@example.com or call 425-827-6622~j
